The TCA Advantage

Committed to academic excellence, Trinity Catholic Academy exceeds traditional Common Core standards by invigorating the curriculum with innovative approaches to learning. Our curriculum is based on 180 days, with 1,071 hours of instructional teaching, surpassing the Massachusetts 900 education requirement by 19%. Every day in Kindergarten through Grade 5 there are 120 minutes of uninterrupted time in English Language Arts (ELA), and 90 uninterrupted minutes in math.

At TCA, students are given access to great academic resources, including paraprofessional aides, TItle I, and Read 180. Full-time paraprofessionals support teachers by giving specialized or concentrated assistance to preschool - kindergarten students.
Title I is a program to give extra help to those students who need it most, especially in schools with high percentages of children from low-income families. The program ensures students in Kindergarten to Grade 3 meet challenging state academic standards. After Grade 3, children requiring additional assistance complete our Read 180 program, a class dedicated to raising literacy rates of struggling readers in Grades 4 and 5.
Read 180, a research-proven system for raising reading achievement, is designed to support educators while helping struggling readers meet rigorous expectations. In Read 180, students engage with and evaluate texts across a range of types and disciplines - with a strong emphasis on information text - and consider multiple perspectives that represent a variety of periods, cultures, and viewpoints. Throughout Read 180, students compose both on-demand and process writing as well as short, focused research projects.
