Celebrated Catholic Schools Week
January 25-31, 2009
Trinity Catholic Academy celebrated Catholic Schools Week, Sunday January 25 through Saturday, January 31, 2009. An educational faith filled week was scheduled. Catholic Schools: "Celebrate
Service" was the theme for the national campaign promoting Catholic Education for the 2008-2009 school year. Catholic Schools Week gives us the opportunity to celebrate the values and virtues of Catholic schools - a place where faith and education meet. It also brings attention to the quality education being offered at nearly 8000 Catholic Schools in the United States. An annual event since 1974, this week honors the more than 163,000 teachers who educate 2.5 million children.
Catholic Schools Week promotes the educational learning of the whole child. It fosters academic excellence, social awareness, cultural diversity and the acceptance and love for fellow man. We have incorporated education (academics), school spirit, community service, faith formation and cultural awareness throughout our Catholic Schools Week activities. By being exposed to this atmosphere of service, love and acceptance, we build the values and character so necessary to prepare our youth to be successful contributing members of society. Let us celebrate Jesus Christ and reflect upon the way we live his Gospel. The following slide show will give you a glimpse into this year's Catholic Schools Week's events and activities. We are indeed, proud to state that "A Catholic Education is An Advantage for Life."
