Trinity Catholic Academy Third Grade Creates
UMass Boston's 2009 Holiday Card
Stephanie Valee of Brockton, a third grader at Trinity Catholic Academy, has had her art work selected as the 2009 holiday card of the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
The winning entry was one of 50 drawings submitted by the third grade students in Ms. Carlyn Villani's art class at Trinity Catholic Academy in Brockton. The drawing of a "winter wonderland" scene will be the holiday greeting card sent from university offices to friends, alumni and supporters of the university all over the world.
University of Massachusetts, Boston Chancellor, Dr. J. Keith Motley, congratulated the third grade and provided juice and cookies when he, along with Phillip Carver, Public Affairs Program Administrator for the University of Massachusetts, Boston and Gail Hobin, Assistant Vice Chancellor of the University of Massachusetts, Boston visited Trinity Catholic Academy.
The "winter wonderland" entries were reviewed by Chancellor Motley, who chose the finalists and the winning entry. Second place was awarded to Emily Labossiere and third place was awarded to Tachel Jean both of Brockton. The three finalists all received UMass Boston bags stocked with art supplies.
