Trinity Catholic Academy Participates in the
"Brown Bag Campaign"

Katherine Hastings, Director of Development for Catholic Charities was overwhelmed at the number of donations from the students at Trinity Catholic Academy in Brockton from their recent food drive to help stock the local Catholic Charities South food pantry as part of the Brown Bag Campaign. Seventh grade students, under the direction of teacher Sarah Vendetti, ran a food drive as part of Trinity Catholic Academy's Community Service program to help Catholic Charities meet their goal of 50,000 bags of food for their pantries by December 31, 2009. Students at Trinity donated 47 bags of groceries as well as cases of pasta and canned goods. Ms. Hastings spoke to the students thanking them for their hard work and explained how the "Brown Bag Campaign" is part of the Friends Feeding Families campaign designed to raise both funds and awareness about the basic services Catholic Charities provides of food, fuel, rent, and mortgage assistance to individuals and families in need throughout Eastern Massachusetts.
