The TCA community was honored to share a goodbye Mass this week with Father Joe Raeke who will be leaving the Catholic Tri-Parishes of Brockton to pursue a new chapter working at the Plymouth-Carver Collaborative. Having served the Tri-Parish and TCA community for seven years, Father Joe left an impact on us all - he will surely be missed.
After the Mass, Regional Director Dr. Michael Green presented Father Joe with how we would honor his legacy. TCA has set up the Father Joseph K. Raeke Scholarship Fund, awarded to two students annually who embody the traits of Father Joe: character, faith and motivation. To say goodbye to someone who made an impact so great is a privilege in and of itself. We were honored to share these few years with Father Joe and know that empowered by God, he will do many awesome things in the future.
As a tribute to Father Joe, Upper and Lower Campus students delivered gifts to Father Joe after the goodbye Mass. These included Haikus and other poems for how Father Joe inspired the students, as well as a stole designed with images of children and embroidered with thanks for strengthening faith in the TCA community. We hope that while Father Joe leaves us, he will always remember the good he has given to our community.
