Dear Classroom Teachers, Specialists, and Staff Members,The principals, staff, Mr. George, President of the Regional Board, and I have been hard at work over these past three months working on taking three separate schools and melding them into one strong unified Pre-K - Grade 8 School. This task has involved: working with contractors to remake old buildings into new structures; assessing curriculum needs; working on an infrastructure for technology; preparing schedules and time allotments that are focused; screening and interviewing applicants; seeking out competitive bids for furniture, textbooks, and equipment; recruiting students; marketing the program; developing a tuition and scholarship plan that meets the needs of families; preparing to initiate a student instrumental music program; along with a myriad of other activities.
We are now at a juncture where we have some information to share. We would like to make the following dates and times available for teachers and staff members to come by the temporary offices at Sacred Heart School to review the schedules and curriculum materials that will be part of our program. The following are the available times and dates for the drop-in sessions: August 16, from 9:00 to 11:00; and August 21, from 9:00 - 11:00 and 1:00 - 3:00. If you can come by on either of those dates please call the Sacred Heart School, 508-588-4481, and let us know that you will be there. Also, we are making every attempt to have the teacher editions available.
On August 23, 2007, all teachers will be attending the Second Steps Workshop which will be held in the church hall at St. Casimir. The Pre-K - Grade 5 will meet from 8:30 to 11:30 and the Grades 6 - 8 will meet from 12:30 to 3:00.
On September 4, we will hold our first formal meeting which will begin after the celebration of Mass at 9:00 a.m. at Christ The King Parish. Following the Mass, we will conduct a general meeting with the entire staff and respective campus meetings will follow.
The next day, September 5, 2007, all teachers will be attending a 9:00 am - 3:00 pm workshop entitled "Writing Across the Curriculum".
